The Calcutta auction will take place on Friday evening, June 11 — the night before Round 1 — roughly 6–7 pm. Every team in the field (max 72 teams) will be auctioned off. All winning bids go into one total Calcutta pot, and for 2027 the Calcutta pays out on BOTH rounds: Round 1 by gross score, and the Final Round with flight handicaps that give every team a real chance.
How the Pot Works
10% of the total pot is donated to local schools. Of the remaining amount, 40% pays out for Round 1 and 60% for the Final Round.
After Round 1, teams are placed into flights based on their Round 1 scores — with a full field of 72 teams, there will be 6 flights (Championship, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th). Each flight's Calcutta pool is the total auction money bid on the teams that land in that flight — so if the Championship flight teams sold for $6,000 combined, that flight pays out from $6,000; if the 2nd flight teams sold for $5,000, that flight pays out from $5,000.
Example: Championship $6,000 · 1st $5,500 · 2nd $5,000 · 3rd $4,500 · 4th $4,000 · 5th $3,000 (total pot: $28,000, total donation: $2,800)
| Flight | Total Bid | 10% Donation | Round 1 Pool (40%) | Final Round Pool (60%) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Championship | $6,000 | $600 | $2,160 | $3,240 |
| 1st Flight | $5,500 | $550 | $1,980 | $2,970 |
| 2nd Flight | $5,000 | $500 | $1,800 | $2,700 |
| 3rd Flight | $4,500 | $450 | $1,620 | $2,430 |
| 4th Flight | $4,000 | $400 | $1,440 | $2,160 |
| 5th Flight | $3,000 | $300 | $1,080 | $1,620 |
| Total | $28,000 | $2,800 | $10,080 | $15,120 |
Round 1 Payouts
Each flight's Round 1 pool pays the top 3 gross Round 1 scores in that flight: 1st — 50% · 2nd — 30% · 3rd — 20%. Ties are broken using the course handicap hole order (9, 18, 2, 11, 3, 12, 8, 17, 5, 14, 4, 13, 6, 15, 7, 16, 1, 10).
From the example above, the Championship flight's $2,160 Round 1 pool would pay 1st $1,080 · 2nd $648 · 3rd $432.
Final Round Handicaps & Payouts
For the Final Round, every team gets a handicap equal to 50% of the strokes they finished behind first place in their flight in Round 1. Example: if first place in your flight shot 60 and your team shot 66, you're 6 strokes back — so your Final Round handicap is 3 strokes. Shoot a 65 in the Final Round and your net score is 62. Half strokes count: 5 strokes back means a 2.5-stroke handicap.
Each flight's Final Round pool then pays the top 3 net Final Round scores in that flight: 1st — 50% · 2nd — 30% · 3rd — 20%. From the example above, the Championship flight's $3,240 Final Round pool would pay 1st $1,620 · 2nd $972 · 3rd $648.
Bidding
Bidders will be in the cart staging area with the auctioneer on the deck, still having access to the clubhouse for food and drinks.
All teams will be bid upon, with every winning bid going into the total Calcutta pot. Bidding begins at $100 per Team. Any team not owned at the conclusion of bidding will be put into a "field bet" and auctioned off to the highest bidder. The auctioneer will set bidding increments. At the conclusion of the Calcutta, the total pot will be announced and auction results posted at the golf course.
If you DID NOT win your team, you may purchase up to 50% of your team from the owner. "field bet" teams ARE NOT allowed to purchase up to 50% of their own team. If you own a team, you are responsible for paying the full amount Friday night. We pay the owner, who then distributes funds to any partial owners.
Calcutta Payments
All Calcutta payments MUST be made Friday night, CASH ONLY. We will not accept payment after Friday night.
We will take payments on the deck during and after the Calcutta, where you can:
- Pay for the Team(s) you purchased.
- Be provided notice of who purchased your Team and provide contact information.
- Calcutta auction results will be available on our website at the conclusion of the auction.
Buy-back payment must be coordinated with the purchaser prior to that team heading out for Round 1. Calcutta payments are CASH ONLY. Calcutta bet sheets will be printed for the auction on Friday.
